➤ Sentence Structure

Subject + Verb + Object

→ This is the basic word order of positive sentences in English.

➤ Subject

→ Usually a noun or a pronoun.

Example nouns:

The boy, the teacher, my friends, the dog.

Example pronouns:

I, you, he, she, it, we, they.

➤ Verb

→ Can be an action verb or a stative verb.

→ Pay attention to the tense (present, past, future) and subject-verb agreement.

Example verbs:

eat, play, read, make, sing, love, know, believe.

➤ Object

→ Usually a noun or a pronoun that receives the action.

Example nouns:

a book, a song, an apple, football.

Example pronouns:

me, you, him, her, it, us, them.
